ABSTRACT

For the treatment of data and information using different mechanisms whether manual, mechanical or automatic, even the ability to communicate orally and processing through the brain via handheld calculators to macro computers and personal computers, being the latter by greater use of all its functions and support that gives human beings in all their daily activities. That is why the following is a brief description of what are a computer and its main parts, recognizing that these are the most used tools for implementing and executing the design and development of information systems
The computer is a machine for general purpose, non-specific such as a plate or a blender, is composed of a set of electronic circuits on a compressed pellet of silicon (called chip) that allows to perform arithmetic operations and logic a high speed according to the instructions given to the user and causing internal operations that are executed without human intervention, in other words, this machine has the ability to accept and store data, process it and produce output automatically making prosecute the electromagnetic signals from one device to another.

For a computer to perform all activities for which today are used, requires two components or parts: software and hardware.
